Meet the Founders of the Mandarin Language and Culture Program

About Me

Hi, I’m Ms. Lao! I’m passionate about teaching Mandarin and sharing the richness of Chinese language and culture with students of all ages. I offer workshops, one-to-one sessions, and online classes designed to make learning Mandarin fun, practical, and engaging.

My journey in education began years ago, and in 2017, I had the opportunity to work in a London school. Since then, I’ve been collaborating with local schools to bring Chinese language and culture to students across the UK. This inspired me to create the Mandarin Language and Culture Program, with the mission of making learning Mandarin enjoyable, interactive, and culturally immersive.

Over the years, I’ve developed my own books, worksheets, and activities to help students learn Mandarin in a way that’s fun and effective. I believe that language learning should be an enjoyable experience, and every resource I create reflects that philosophy.

I’m also passionate about connecting learners around the world. I’ve built opportunities for English-speaking students in the UK to communicate with Chinese-speaking students in China through postcards and online cultural exchange programs. For me, learning a language is about more than vocabulary and grammar—it’s about understanding the culture and making meaningful connections.
